We are an evangelical church. This means we proclaim the good news of God’s love in word and action. We place special emphasis on the belief in salvation (God rescues, redeems, saves) and the grace of God (God loves us even though we do not deserve it).

We take as central to our hope, the death of Jesus Christ on the cross at Cavalry. In some way, not always completely clear, the death of Jesus Christ on the cross means by which the individual may receive from God the gift of life abundant and eternal fellowship with Him. God through His infinite love and grace reaches out to men and women bound up in all manner of self-pleasing and self centeredness. We have the opportunity to accept God’s offer of love and forgiveness and become part of the family of God, receiving this gift of new life that is eternal in quality as well as time.

We believe that we may, in this day and age, accept this offer of God and become the sons and daughters of God Almighty. As we sing in the hymn “Amazing Grace… I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see.”

We may know now the joy of sin forgiven and the vital experience of life abundant because we are a part of the family of God. This new life from God becomes apparent in our daily lives. The teaching of Jesus Christ becomes more than pious sentiment. It influences behavior patterns that determine our lifestyle and relationships. As love becomes a present reality for us, we learn to return good for evil, seek justice for others in need and to be an example to those who do not yet know the Christian way of life.
